Barnegat Township Educational Foundation...Helping our High School Students
Oct. 24, 2009 The Barnegat Township Educational Foundation is a not for profit organization that was founded in 2003 for the purpose of raising scholarship funds for graduating Barnegat High School Seniors. The members of the foundation began their fund raising efforts by selling Barnegat High School tee shirts out of the trunks of their cars. The funds raised from that first endeavor has enabled the foundation to grow and their annual events now include the Battle at the Bay Cheerleading Competition that showcases 30 plus cheerleading squads each year, our Golf Outing in the spring and along with several other community groups, the Barnegat Community Carnival that takes place every August. Because of the success of their events, the foundation awarded over $40,000.00 to members of the first two graduating classes of Barnegat High School. Some new fundraisers have been added to the foundation yearly calendar and they include a Psychic Fair, Bunko Night and a Chinese Auction. They Psychic Fair will be taking place on December 4, 2009 at the Cecil S. Collins School. The event will run from 6pm to 10pm and will feature five popular local psychics that include Kasandra and Harold from Charmed in Company. The fee is $20.00 for a 15 minute reading. The Battle at the Bay Cheerleading Competition is scheduled for February 6, 2010 and will take place at Russell O. Brackman Middle School and is open to all levels of cheer.
